    This years find from early summer…any ideas on material? Displays greens/dark blue/gray colors with what looks like quarts inclusion? Slightly translucent surrounding edges.
    No similar material located within the area.

      Nice point with those little crystal's at the tip. I would call it a very dense Chalcedony. Maybe Blue Coshocton Chert

        Are you closer to the Ohio side or the Virginia side of WV?

        I've see some quartz points from the Piedmont area of VA/NC that look sort of similar. But if you are on the Ohio side I think Mattern is spot on.

          Thanks for the responses…im on the VA side. Most lithics found within the area of this point are rhyolite and chalcedony.

            May be way off, but looks similar to "metavolcamic rocks" in Eastern mass. Do you see an iridescent sheen when you look from diff angles?

              No iridescence…Mattern was probably correct as usual about it being a chalcedony. Slightly translucent around the edges…
