The case above is a case i made to carry to arrowhead shows to show what can be done to artifacts to fool collectors. An 18" X 24" case

willjo - Good idea I did a similar thing at a presentation I did at a local small town museum. Except, I turned it into a Quiz.: Real or Reproduction? Attendees loved it. I had more Repros than Reals!

Question ? On the heavy patina .. what caused this ? Creek stain , earth .. I always wonder .

I ask because creek I get but I have found those colors in Georgia surface hunting .

The rock is basically eroding on the surface because of sun, wind, and rain, the poor-quality rocks show this more, the better grade chert don't show it as much.
