  • Texas Woods

What can you tell me about petrified wood as it applies to artifacts? It appears to me that this material was not easy to work. I got a couple hundred of these out of Lake Livingston in East Texas.

I am from the piney woods area of north east Texas..  I found a lot of petrified wood artifacts while living there.  My favorite are the knives.. They look unlike any i have seen from anywhere else.  Happy Hunting!

I had an uncle who lived right on lake Livingston. I found several similar points when I was there a long time ago. I haven't been back,my uncle died shortly after my visit 25 years ago. Nice to see some of the same types and from the same area I enjoyed so much when I was little! Thanks!
