All of these were dug at a Late Paleo/Early Archaic site near LAKE BIRD, FL The points found with them were Suwannee to Bolen (Early to Late Paleo in Fl).

Quite the variety of scrapers Tom...I used to field hunt in Illinois for a few years and found a few odds n ends.I never really knew what I had found..Wast sure if I had scrapers, adzes or preforms they all resembled each other...mjm

Hand scraper from western Kentucky, it fits hand good . It's seen a hide or two , highly polished on scraping side.

Nice ones there. The two on the right are cool. The lower right is some nice lithic and the upper looks kinda heavy duty...

BabaORiley... the top right lithic is a neally nice Hornstone, with part of the blue quartz center. The lower right one is on Nethers Flint Ridge from Ohio.

Killers! I'll say again that back in the day you could buy scrapers and tools for almost nothing at shows. Boxes of them to choose from

Well... you are probably right. These were just part of the contents of group lots I acquired to get the 1 or 2 pieces I really wanted. I kept everything, because I like to study how different materials patinate. That was one of my ways of sorting out artifacts from artifakes.

Some of you know I "specialize" in shell tools from my area but scrapers and tools are my second loves. Tools have more "essence" of the maker for me.
