  • Found a Super Cool Uniface

I found this nicely worked uniface scraper in the same river as my Dalton. I ended up with a thumb scraper, some middles and a big tip and a hammer stone as well as the uniface tool. No whole points but the scraper was worth the trip.

Nice! That's a beauty. Looks to have some flaking on the the mostly smooth side as well. May be more than just a scraper.. I'd keep hunting that creek, looking in the cut bank. That piece looks like it recently washed out.

Thanks! Maybe a uniface knife?... it has been worked on the smooth side. The river has kicked out some good ones for me. I have looked at the banks before but never had any luck, I have seen videos online where people have found some killer pieces that way. I’ll keep checking here and there.

That's probably a little closer. Could be a preform of some sort also. I'd like to see what hoss or kyflintguy thinks about it.

Great quality photos. Looks like it could have been used as a scraper and knife both. All knives were not halfted.
