      Great ! The material looks like a red basalt ...The NA people liked using basalt ...

        Can you post a closer shot of the base with both notches, and a shot of the other side with the edges? That really looks like red slate or shale, or Munsungan chert, which outcrops in Maine, and is often used on points from up that way. I'm not sure if red basalt occurs in Maine. Maybe, IDK for sure.

          It also looks like a gray chert or rhyolite point to the left of the round rock!

            Its actually made of round mountian red chert from the munsungan formation the material is dull in color when compared to the munsungan material . i will try and get some more pics up of it having trouble working the site different from when i was on here before lol.

              Heres a better look at it and a couple other finds that day the tip is red munsungan chert very glossy compared to round mt red. Click image for larger version

              Also found this munsungan chert scraper and a bunch of brokes and pottery that day not a bad haul 😂😂😀

                    That’s a great find . They are finding basalt on the moon now from that Chinese event up there . Had to throw that in CDM
                    I love walking and seeing a color like that pop out .
