  • I did it! I did it! I did it!!!!

For 5 years now I have been saying that I am stone blind.
Well I have been out with Greg Szybala detecting and point hunting for the last 2 days.
Greg has been able to find points both days but as usual I drew a blank the first day out.
That all changed today and I found my first field point.
Greg was about 300 feet away when I shouted out. I AM NOT STONE BLIND.
    And he definitely heard me.

In life there are losers and finders. Which one are you?

Congratulations, Bruce!!! The floodgates are opened! Great first find man! Out of curiosity, have you ever ran your detector over any rocks and got a signature.

Yes I have, some sites are full of "hot rocks ". It can be frustrating but after the 3rd or 4th one you learn to avoid them by remembering the sound.

Josh, I know what you mean. I have lost track of how many times I have said that I was stone blind over the last 5 years. Give me a metal detector and I can find something anywhere, ask me to find a worked stone out in a field full of stones and I go blind.

Are you color blind? I would think if you were all rocks would look the same. I am on certain greens and browns. Congratulations

Definitely not color blind. I can walk a field all day with a detector and watch the scenery around me.
Ask me to stare at the ground while I am walking and I go cross eyed.

That's okay. Maybe next year, I will be able to find a creek or something that produces and have you down here.
