          I believe it’s considered late paleo transitional to early archaic and the material is unusual for this area possibly “jasperized” petrified wood.

                    Right, I have a nice fluted Dalton.

                    A lot of Dalton points are fluted in early stage, but later flaking erases the flute. Fluting was good at thinning out the middle of the base while leaving some ‘meat’ on the bones for strength.
