Opinions on type?

One of my pieces from Rock Island County Illinois or possibly Eastern Missouri, or Iowa. Looks to me like a St. Charles base on. Snyder body. What do you think?Kind of chunky, but nicely made. Hard to see in the pictures, but the material is pinkish gray chert.

Could be a Snyder. but the retouch flaking is throwing that off Most likely a Hopewell. Defentley not a St Charles.

St Charles is a point type not mentioned much. How ya doing Chase ?

The more I look at this point, the more I think it could be a resharpened St Charles Dovetail. When I look at just the base, it really looks right for that, and not so much like a Snyder/Hopewell.

I might be all wet, but I see the same flaking and edge touch up on other St Charles points. Especially the notches. See how they are almost round looking?

Call it whatever you like, it your point. notches are wrong for a dove.
