  • East TN arrowhead

I happened to find an arrowhead in a creek off the french broad river roughly 10 years ago and never had it checked out. I found this arrowhead on a large piece of private property that has been in the family for nearly 70 years that sits way back off the road. So i figured i'd post here to see if anyone might know a little bit about it

        • An arrowhead is a tip that has been sharpened and added to an arrow to make it more deadly and effective • These agate arrowheads can be a wide range of colors and patterns • These are hand-carved from real agate pieces, so we cannot guarantee a certain color or pattern. • You will receive 10

Millions of those have been being sold on ebay, on etsy, at flea markets and relics shops for years. My guess is some one pulled a prank on you.

If you click that link Joshua provided it is selling lots of 200 points and it says they sold 291 lots. That is close to 60,000 points. All made in India. sold at Tourist traps for years. Walk into the flea at at exit 407 and you will find them on sale. They are sold all the way down 66 to. Relics room carries them but they sell them as modern. The Cherokee store has them and they sell them it the tourist shops in Gatlinburg and Cherokee too.

Sometimes property owners will try and help you out cause they don’t know you will ever find out they are throwing them for you to find. I have suspected a certain property I’m allowed on the owner is tossing some for me to find. The ones he is tossing are real though but the soil is already at the hard pan and every time I go there is another. I haven’t told him I know just letting him have some fun and probably has a collection of his own from the past. I’m thinking that’s where he is getting them from. His family are probably like mine and don’t care about them and he knows I do

This one I pulled from the website TennesseeProjectilePoints.net (http://www.projectilepoints.net/Points/Neuberger.html) due to the fact it looks extremely similar to mine. That obviously doesn't mean much but I wouldn't imagine an artifact page would post fakes. I do understand the skepticism after doing a little research though so I believe ill just take this one to have it looked at in person just for peace of mind.

I would encourage that. Be careful who you get to look at it. Some Authenticators will authenticate anything.

It's family property and I had never said anything about searching for any type of artifacts prior. I could see someone doing that however that's not the case here. If it is fake I have literally no clue why it would be where I found it

If found in a creek it could of washed from upstream. The creeks here go for miles and flood with good current

read the actual description given on that page about the Neuberger point. That picture does not even belong on that page in my honest opinion. It is not my page but if it was I would be all over a submission like that. It certainly is like no Neuberger I have ever seen. Just so you know that point is not properly thinned or notched. I would also point out that no where on that page does it state that actual specimen is from Tennessee. http://www.projectilepoints.net/Points/Neuberger.html
