Just a thought, seeing your location there....are you familiar with Jewelsburg?

              i May have misspelled it...
Wandering wherever I can, mostly in Eastern Arkansas, always looking down.

Small world. My wife’s Grandmother and Grandfather lived there for a short while after leaving Friend, Nebraska before WW2. He was working as an engineer for Honeywell on a top secret jet airplane that blew up over Jackson, Tennessee, killing him and everyone on board. My wife’s uncle is 87 and still trying to pry information about his father’s death from the government.

I remember her Grandmother when we first started dating, she was in her Late 80’s then...And had the dementia. She always called me “that nice young man from Jewelsburg”. The family said I reminded her of someone she knew from back then, and it always made me smile. I always played the part as best I could.

Julesburg. Tragic but great story thanks. I have friends from Friend.
Please look up the book “the Indian Wars of 1864” Eugene Ware author.
Skip to chapter 23 and 24. This should “wet your appetite”
It is the story of the beginnings Jburg.
The “red skin” burnt Jburg down twice.
“They” finally moved Jburg across the river and further away from ft sedjwick.
