My wife found a point i have never seen in the books or online and a found a piece of hardstone today not sure if it was a gorget, bannerstone, axe or hoe! Exciting day none the less! The point she found is seratted triangular has the smallest thinnest flute i have ever seen and a bevel on both sides!

I love it when my wife finds a point! She doesn’t hunt with me that often, but she found a Paleo (Golondrina) before I did!

It looks like the bit end of a small Celt However I can’t see the cross section

Nice finds.. that hardstone piece looks just like I would find up here… way to small to be a axe or hoe I.m.o.
I’m not real familiar with Georgia artifacts… interesting find, I’ll be watching this thread for other opinions…. Keep kick’n dirt

Thanks for the input I agree I thought it was small to be an axe or hoe! We will, going back today in the rain!

Nice finds. That point is very interesting. Looks more fluted than just base thinning strike, but not going to pretend I know what it is. Reminds me of a Dalton transitional piece but I'll wait to see if anyone has a good idea of what it actually is.

Thanks for the input I agree it doesn't look like basal thinning I'm no expert but this is the longest flute of any piece I have.

It looks like a well used/worn Dalton. Sweet find!

Nice finds. Looks like a nice little broken celt. I’ve seen them even smaller.
