      Baba, Trail 8 is essentially highway 12 originating out of Detroit.
      Searching the fields of NW Indiana and SW Michigan

        Awesome! I think most people agree the most ancient trails were cut by large animal herds, but of course humans used those trails because... they were there! I can't speak for other areas of the country but here in south Jersey there are still trails from archaic cultures that are in wildlife preserves or hunting areas. They connect sites and follow water ways. They have bits of artifacts on them. There are also maps like the one you posted from other states I've seen but I don't know if the trails are to be found still. Thanks for posting this was really great!
