Thanks Guys, The Big Old Squash (Gete-Okosomin) is a cool story and I would like to plant some. And eat some.

Edit: I ordered some seeds and will plant them when the snow is gone. I think it's very impressive that the Native Americans have been growing this squash for 5000 years.

That type will probably fare well in your climate there Ron...keep us up on its progress once you plant...

Hey Frank, We do have a shorter growing season so it will be interesting to see how big they get. I hope they mature. I will start plants to transplant when the weather warms.

Hey Tom, That's a good idea. They have lots of seed so if they mature I should have lots of seed to share.

        I like squash...
I wonder how well they would fare here in N. Texas?

It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.

I bet they will grow great in N. Texas! So would Seminole Pumpkin. This is not the season to be planting squash and pumpkin in FL.....getting hot already.
      Working...
