      Some very interesting stuff in this thread on these long pestle shaped stones. Here is a picture of a similar one I found many years ago. It is pecked and shaped but shows no signs of grinding like other long roller pestles I've seen. I always thought that after finishing it, they just never used it for grinding pine nuts. This has me thinking now it might be a Lithophone? I did a test like they show and it does have a nice ring to it when struck.
