Its a negative-space clamshell fossil that was used as a scraper. It appears it was slightly ground from underneath, either as a re-sharpen or during orginal working, and then woked a little from the top. I beleive its made of a limestone based rock. Found outside an old spring in Central Florida. Paleo.

I think it's fossiliferous chert unifacial scraper and some of the little holes and the bottom dissolved out over the ages. I think the clamshell appearance is just the shape of the tool. Humped, small end, big end. Some scrapers are rough on the bottom for their use, most are smooth. Great walkin site!! Got probe!!???Professor Shellman
