the river rising and falling and all the rain continue to erode parts of the ridge at an alarming rate.

    this happened today.

me and Lt. Dan are walking around looking for arrowheads(more on that later) and he walks past this. He had no idea what it was.
I was a dozen steps behind him and almost lost my head....

I thought it might have been just another neck, because I’ve found plenty of them before. The plow is hard on stuff.

I would have posted a video of me digging it up, but the language is not friendly. I didn’t even know I was talking...😮

It’s a water bottle. About 400-600years old, maybe a little older.

Oh wow! That is an amazing find. To find a compete vessel is quite remarkable. Do you know what culture it can be credited to? That water bottle sure beats the modern day plastic ones!

It certainly outlasts most of them.
It’s late Mississippian/Quapaw, as they overlapped on this site.

Wow! Way cool congrats in that find!
Is the top that rough or has it been broken there? Either way, nice.

It looks like the rim has a small section hit by a plow.... about 75% is intact.

What makes it even more amazing is the amount of heavy equipment that has passed over it countless times, and I know the neck was exposed by erosion, but measuring from the non-eroded slope just uphill from it, it was only about 16”-18” deep before the river uncovered it for me.
