Perhaps a foreshaft or 'organic point' at one time
Pictures and descriptions of several different types of primitive projectile points that are made of organic materials, such as antler, bone, ivory, gar scale, shell and wood.

I also think so - bone and antler points were probably perfect for lots of applications due to being able to reuse them them with little maintenance. Good find Wally!

Most of the time when something like that is found you normally think flint knapping tool, but it could very well be a forshaft like Olden stated.
