        They carved into a wood paddle and pushed it into the wet clay . Actually the Japanese have a technique like that to this day .

      You know what’s interesting is finding with I am positive to be the tools they carved the wood paddles with .
      Antmike showed that red drill and that is one of the hardest lithics . Some engravers that are hand held the size of a golf ball but very obvious sharp edges for engraving .
      Then I find these hafted tools all the same and the tips are worn down . I’ll post next time I find some pottery .
