  • Another One

I came across another one this morning. So these were kinda explained in the last post and I have no idea as to what their use was but apparently some Thomas Edison wannabe over at Astor Park had a bright idea, throw a wad of clay on a stick and fire it ..I’m certainly open to any ideas...Thanks

How about weights used with; fish trap in the creeks, or woven mats used as tarps? Only guesses. Any wear on the upper part of the holes?

They do look like some kind of weights but being clay they would be light weight right?

Maybe they were testing a batch of clay to see if they got the mixture correct?

Another idea occurred to me. What if it's part of a Bola? Used to hunt small game such as birds.

Too light and one throw would break the hole..

I think it is a cooking ball used in indirect cooking. The hole is for a lanyard for easy retrieval from the soup pot.

Could be..they’d get it close enough to the 🔥 to heat it but not too close that it would burn the lanyard...that makes the most sense...Hey, stay safe Hoss.
