  • Pot Leg

Well I tried today last day of vacation then back to work tomorrow for many days until my next day off. I tried to go found a pot leg and a old piece of different glazed pottery. Then I heard thunder I was already soaked but wasn’t up for lighting so went home. Hey Hal did they have pots with legs on them in Florida? Click image for larger version

It’s the biggest one I’ve ever found. I always keep them and also lugs if I find them. Lugs are even more rare to find I’ve only found one of them and maybe a dozen legs

They usually have 3-4 legs on each pot CC maybe a pot big enough to cook big game or a huge water pot

I’ve found 1000s of pieces of pottery usually just don’t keep them. One year I kept it and had a 5 gallon bucket full gave it all away.

I think it’s a late Woodland thing they are actually made separate from the pot then attached I’m not sure if attachment is done before or after firing
