    I found this in Titusville on a construction site in the 80's
    Made from some kind of Welk shell I think.

      Very cool. Tools and adornments made from welk shell are few and far between here in texas. Thanks for sharing Nman!

          Net or fishing wgt. It's the siphon from a whelk. Got a basket full of them from the fishing village site here in W. Florida.

            That use makes sense to me. Florida NA's did a lot of fishing.
