willjo - those are some beautiful rocks. Do you polish them all together and how long does it usually take. Those are awesome, especially the last pic with all the different patterns.Pickett/Fentress County, Tn - Any day on this side of the grass is a good day. -Chuck-

I have a home made rock tumbler that uses the Lorotone 3 lb. drums. it will spin six at one time and it takes four weeks to finish a batch of rocks. week one 80 grit, week two 220 grit, week three ,600 grit and week 4 Aluminum oxide for hard stones. With the different drums I can polish six different types of stones at same time

Sorry but when it comes down to lithics you should not discount sandstone or Ryolite quarts and even dolomite not as strong but still silica based lol Charlie will get off my soap stone box
