Crystal / quartz question

I collect crystal for my Grandaughter but now a little for myself as well .
I have a question about the long crystal . Is this from the middle of a geode or is this a reduction flake from the
strikes I hope you can see .

Looks more like it was flaked to me. Quartz crystals have six sides.

Ohhh interesting , now I know .. yeah see even all my quartz reduction flakes have long strikes . I don’t know the terminology
for that but like a side impact fracture would look like .
