Having looked at some pics of Nephrite Jade it doesn't seen to be that kind of material.
This rock (which I'm pretty certain is natural) as the look and feel of glazed stoneware.
I have seen examples of that kind of natural glaze on on a single side of hard grey stones in the creek that assume were mineral deposits that had been 'fired' by maybe volcanic action of some kind.
What it remarkable about this one is that it's 'glazed' on both sides and edges too.
It looks a little like fossilized bone. I have found some sharks teeth that are between going from white to black as they mineralize. If it was found near an ocean, it could be water worn into that nice polish.
