Johnny, I’m sure partial to that coastal plain chert! I have a rock tumbler I’ve never used. It could use a new home but it’s heavy as all get out & would cost a fortune to ship. If you’re ever up my way, come get it! Lol

I made one and it starts with 18 lbs of rocks and turns out a few pounds less because the material polished off. Thanks for offer though.

I was going to polish sea glass for miniature driftwood vignettes but found an inexpensive source & diy became impractical.

Sea glass may be as hard to polish as obsidian, it was to soft and I never could get my obsidian to shine.

Actually tumbled sea glass should look frosty, not polished.

I thought it was frosty looking when it came out of ocean or were you going to take regular glass and frost it.

Very nice colors. I could look at those all day. Each one is different.

WOW Coastal plain chert is beautiful to begin with. Johnny you have captured the beauty even better than the surf could do.

Middle pic is chert from our Coastal Plains? Clearly, I am doing something wrong. Guess will have to hang around, and keep learning...! Love to you all!

Polishing then is not hard, just follow correct guidelines and be patient and they turn out perfect. Top two photos Coastal plain chert.
