  • Chert found in front yard.

    I recently moved and we were redoing the lawn and low and behold a few nice chunks of east Tennessee chert popped up after the last rain. Nice looking material. Looks like it would cube in the hands of a knapper though. Click image for larger version

            Cool stuff, with that banding it would be great to find some nice big archaic points or paleo points made from it!

                Found a larger piece of that chert pretty cool looking stuff. The smaller piece is the first piece I found. They dont quite fit but very close you can see where it broke apart.
