  • Diamond in the rough ?

Got another head scratcher got a mineral hardness test kit and was testing some stones i got from a heavy piles from a rock shop. Was able to scratch every stone with the number 9 blue pen except this stone. No matter how hard i pushed with pen and tryed to scratch it just is not happening. Probably not a gemstone but figured i would start a thread see if anyone could say its something else!

Dip it in some water, a diamond wont stay wet.

I would say no . I had a 5 carrat raw diamond one time it had weird exterior. That almost looks like it’s been fractured and tumbled . Can order a diamond tester on eBay cheap .

                Hi,

Diamonds are weird in the rough and looking at what you have I guess it’s possible?

Take it to a jeweler and get it tested.
