I was hoping that when I picked it up haha.

It's polished, but not crazy. The edges are rounded smooth with no sharp areas except for the break.

Coulda been anything I suppose, but I know it's not natural to my area. I've found all kinds of materials that don't belong in my fields though. It was a massive intersection at one point, mounds all around, the whole 80acres was basically a campsite from what I can tell.

That looks like a nicely worked edge to me. Gorget is a good choice. Bannerstones in your area tend to have thicker edges as well, but banded slate isn't the most common material for a classic Wisconsin bannerstone.

An actual gorget would be a life maker. If there's a chance this was one, who knows maybe there's the rest is near that same spot. When they cut the corn I'll have to get out there and rake that spot clean and get on my hands and knees.

It's the only area I have permission for so far, so looks like I have no choice but to hit it forever!
