  • Birdstone found by Shalon

This is a cool piece make me jealous.
Look to the ground for it holds the past!

It is kinda blurry, but I definitely don't see a Birdstone. They are always magnificiently crafted of banded slate(a few of hardstone) and are three or so inches up to maybe 5 inches in length.
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone

            Hey Bubba, Welcome!
There are still a lot of questions regarding Birdstones and their possible uses.
            Here's one link, http://lithiccastinglab.com/gallery-...tonespage1.htm
The piece pictured above is a natural rock that just happens to look like a birds head,
so it is not a good example of a Birdstone.
            I hope you find one!
            Joe

It looks like rust.  I'm guessing something coated with iron ore.
Also, need a size reference or a ruler, hard to tell how big/small it is.

Cant tell if it has a hole in it or not. If it does it might of been a necklace peice. But not a bird stone.
