  • Gorget, arrowhead abrader, cordage maker...dunno

This could be a totally natural item, but I have compared it with an adze I have and found that it contains some of the same characteristics. Examples: the smoothed edge on all sides and chipping at the very tip on one side. It looks as if someone began to drill a hole in it as well. What do you all think? I thought it didn't look worked, but then it was found in sand on a beach, so that raises the question of some working marks being worn away.

I think your first impression was correct. I see only a natural rock.

Sorry Lakota, just a rock. You should come to the beaches of Lake Michigan, you'll find dozens of them!

Look for color that is odd against the background. Not by shape otherwise you will go blind and miss half-buried good stuff!!
