  • Rocks from Massachusetts thought to be something they are not

    Anyone ever found a GOD?
This is Mashop the Giant. Authenticated by the MA archaeological society. According to legend, he created the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.
How many time can I enter this contest?

If this white stone is an important effigy, why did you drill a hole in it?

And good luck to you Willow you are now read only and I suggest you do some reading and studying about actual man made artifacts rather than posting natural rocks.

It pains me to ban anyone from our site but some folks just walk in the out door and get caught in a crosswind and end out outside looking in.

I understand Matt. I wasn't criticizing you. I can see how this person may have been a time consuming member. And yeah, definitely came in through the out door.

Sometimes it’s necessary to ban a person so he or she can have time to study and read as to why their rocks are just rocks. You have to learn how to be a geologist which helps a great deal in knowing the types of rocks that could of been used to be an artifact in your area.

I'm familiar with Mashop, but I'm not aware of any renderings in stone or drawing/glyph by natives in southeastern New England. Which would have made it questionable that the MAS would have had any basis to "authenticate" the natural pebble. If it was authenticated by the MAS people at the Robbins Museum, it might have been to humor the owner, though I don't believe they are in the habit of supporting rocks mistaken for artifacts.
