  • Banded Slate Core?

I think this is banded slate. If it is its not indigenous to my area. My first thought was that it was a trade good or remnant core. What ever it is its a truly beautiful thing to look at. JP

I'm not sure what it is, but I doubt it's slate.

Looks like Banded quartzite to me. Sorry but it is like no slate I have ever seen. A beautiful stone but not an artifact in my opinion. Moving this one too. Seeking, there are opportunities in your state. Join your states archaeological society . https://www.nhas.org/
Also this looks to me like a wonderful program for someone with time on their hands who wants to learn . Check it out. https://www.nh.gov/nhdhr/scrap_info.htm
