  • Super knife.

Water is down some so hit adena creek this AM. Only about 100 yds of gravel bar showing but did produce this really neat knife. Don't know about the lithics but great color for a change. Might be water stain but don't think it's burlington chert as usual. The creek is overhung with trees and in the fall it is rake time to get to gravel. I think leaves produce tanic acid and might have stained this piece. Only way to tell would be take a flake off but not going to do that. It has a adena base but looks like it was made as it is and not a salvaged point. In any case it will show up great in a tool frame when I make one. Any input on the color or lithics would be appreciated.

Great example of a knife to me . It’s got nice work on that and that is what I love to look at .
I like your theory on the patina . Now see I would think jasper all shiny like that .

The shine I kinda thought might be water polish but there is almost no sand and all the other points out of this creek don't have this color so, washed out a thousand yrs before the others ?

Still has a pretty nice edge on it. Always enjoy finding points worked like that.
