So the last month or so I’ve been nursing an injury detrimental to artifact hunting... a sprained ankle.
After mustering up the courage to test it I decided to walk a site near and dear to my heart today.
I checked in with my sister on my way out the door and uttered to her, “I think I’ll look for something other than points today”. She just kinda looked at me shrugged, and drifted off to sleep.
The passion isn’t shared!
I hit the field, and was met by an icy wind, that was predictable based on the weather I had checked before leaving.. but it never is easy to adapt back to the cold after several weeks of spring!
As I headed down the field I noticed a full groove sinker sitting pretty, and picked it up.. snapped a picture to Jay and moved on. A solid start to the hunt!
I decided to work down closer to where I had found a gouge 3 years ago and in the first row found a gouge in nearly the exact spot I had found one of similar shape size and material three years prior!
I couldn’t believe it!
I carried on for another hour or so, however my hunt had essentially already ended. Having found what I was looking for, and the excitement was all too real! I decided to head home.
on the way out I found a little argillite point. Not the nicest quality, but something is better than nothing!
