  • When you know its NOT all there

Hit a ditch yesterday. Its a trashy sandy ditch but every now and then a great piece pops up. This one hurt a bit. Best "median ridge" point I have ever found. Creek stained dover.
I suspect it would have been some archaic blade.

I like that knife even though its broken, I'm imagining maybe a exhausted pickwick or Benton knife but hard to say I guess. I like that Pepsi bottle too. Thanks for sharing!

I was thinking Pickwick, just doesn't feel like a Benton in hand. It is a hunk of flint now, I bet it was huge at one time with that steep median ridge on each face created by all the resharpenings. I think it broke while being or just after being resharpened, it is one of the sharpest pieces I have ever found

                        That point is a beauty.
There are lots of people who specialize in bottle hunting. You can find collectors who would pay for that Pepsi bottle.

I like that doodle! Old junky ditches are interesting. I'm always afraid those old tires are laying on top of a smoker.

You're right this type disposable bottle did not last long.
Short neck Dr. Pepper bottles and the brown Pepsi's are already on the collectable list along with the 7-Up bottles.
There are others but these three are the ones that come to mind. [Dr. Pepper clear "squat" bottle the rarest]
Coke not so much they continued to produce their version of the bottles for quite some time.

It is a "Rock" when it's on the ground.
It is a "Specimen" when picked up and taken home.

Some of the old Coke bottles with dates and city of manufacturing are collectable.
Other than that they are a dime a dozen.
