And we are hitting the skids here for the rest of the summer. Corn already thigh high and beans not to far behind.

Hi Greg. A nice variety of artifacts you are showing. It looks like you were on a Early Archaic site. Maybe you have shown us pictures of finds from that field before. Thigh high corn, eh? We've been eating local sweet corn down here on the Gulf Coast for a month. And some field corn is getting almost mature enough to harvest.

3 different sites Joe. The first and second points out of a site that has late archaic through woodland but primarily Goodar mound culture. The two scrapers and preform out of a strictly Woodland site and the drill from early archaic/Mississippian site.

Is it a Nodena? What is it?

I'm thinking a drill Josh, not as thick as a pencil. but dull!

That first point looks like it would have had some thump to it on impact. Think that is an impact fracture on the 2nd one? Couple nice scrapers and is that drill looking piece quartz? And ya cant beat that walking partner either. Soil looks loamy. Is it bottomland?

You never know in the fields. I'd like to believe it's an impact fracture. What your seeing is sandy soils. Anything from rolling glacial hills to river valley flatlands with 2'-15' high small rises in my area.

That Sandy soil is what I noticed. It seems that the sand would help in letting the points survive better. Nice finds, I really like the side notched dart point.

Thanks for sharing Greg. You have some great finds.my fields are growing pretty fast too. I'll have to switch to the beaches. The first point looks just like a type I find.

Those are some nice finds , I do agree with the sand . That scalhorn I found would have never made it if not for the soft sandy soil , it was so delicate . Boy I love that first one .
                        Love your hunting Buddie !
