  • 1st campsite/ half of an atalatl weight ?

I think this is half an atalatl weight. It had a groove ground into one side. I sifted three acres of dirt and never found the other half. It's a little larger than a golf ball.Click image for larger version

Looks like a ball bannerstone. Sometimes they are fluted on one side, fluted ball bannerstones, but such examples would usually be a bit more elongated then your broken half. So your's is likely a ball banner of banded slate.

Here's a non-artist rendering of what the other half may look like..
The maker of Owl's banner chose to have the grain circle around the hole - this one crosses it.

If the women don\'t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Cool. And proof that it is not necessarily a ball banner as I assumed....

That's cool. I just knew I'd find the other half. It must have fell down an ancient gopher hole about twenty feet deep. 😂😂😂
