  • Water project

Ive been super busy lately... worst archery elk season i can remember. Only one so far... that takes up the mornings and evenings... during the day we are working on a water replacement project. The old cistern was needing replaced. We went big and got a 1760 gallon one. I dug out one of the spring heads in the yard and trenched it to the cistern. Put in a collection tank in the spring and connected the two with one inch pipe. Started the water in to the tank at noon and by 6 pm the cistern was overflowing. Better than 5 gallons a minute on gravity flow. Found a few things in the dirt while working. The intact buffalo leg came out of the spring head an looks to be nearly fossilized. One of the knives was in the clay layer so its real old. G10 samantha dart point. I can take better pics and update when i get some sun.middle of montana.

Sorry to hear that your elk season has not been great so far Chad, hopefully you get to fill the freezer before it's over.
On the flip side those lithics are gorgeous.

I think your yard needs a swimming pool or an extensive garden or possibly just more random artifact holes, lol.
man I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night wondering what’s buried in the yard!
