Found two segments of a paleo point years apart . The tip and base were still missing though. Also, found the tip of a perforator once, 5 year separation it became complete, with super glue....

Hi willijo. It does look like a real oldie for sure. Based on what you do see (chipping style, basal form, etc.), do you have a guess as to possibilities for type? And what makes you think Paleo as opposed to Trans Paleo? Have you found other Paleo artifacts at the site?

I was thinking Simpson or Suwanee and the site has produced Clovis points and a Haw River point thought to be pre Clovis within 10 ft. of this one.

Thanks for the feedback. Good show!! Yes, a busted Woodland point ain't no big deal but a Paleo or Trans Paleo is surely a big disappointment. I know that by experience. If you wanna see an example of a busted Clovis, I think I got an old pic from a scan I did before I sold my collection that would really break your heart.

WillJo, that’s a gut punch right there...that is still a beauty of a find, but you know that. I’d have laid down in the field and cried like a baby....

I was happy to get that much because it shows those people were there and they may be more.
