I think it was just a flat rock with a disc hit on the edge.?.? But I’ve walked over stuff before lol.

I use to get excited when I saw one grab it and walked away. Now I’ve learned to grab it and keep looking in the same area cause there is usually another.

I think it’s jewel flint ridge, I’ll try to get a better picture of her tomorrow.

Thanks Tam, I think flintridge but I’m not 100% positive... we do find it up this way but not overly often. I always get excited to see colorful flint on the ground!

Had to try again after work, pretty sunny out not my favorite condition, did get my eye on another and then called it a day. More insitu from last night and the 1 tonight and clean ups. Teeth are probably young cow maybe?? Found a wee colonial clay marble yesterday also.

The spokeshave looking piece is actually the base of a stem point, the hoe?? Is slate and beveled on each side of the pointed end. I was thinking preform for something or a knife, not really sure but in my mind was an anciently modified stone.. tried getting a better picture of the gem in natural light below..

Field looks pretty clean and you found a bunch of artifacts. All no till here mostly grass but if you look straight down you can still score. I’d kill to see a field like that. Great day of finds

Field was potatoes and then they chiseled half of it after they picked it in the fall..

I’m pretty sure it’s Ohio flint, if not Flintridge probably Upper Mercer.?.?? It could even be something the glacier kicked in. I’ll get some opinions tomorrow at my archaeology meeting.
