  • Some of April Finds

Here are some of my April finds, some from creeks, some from construction sites I work on and a no till field that had some rains to uncover a couple. The Cobbs blade is a great piece and I’m amazed is complete considering the dozers and dump trucks have been running over it. It is 4.25” long with a big bevel. The other one that surprised me was the one by my truck tire. I was leaving a construction site and had to get out of my truck for a second and looked down and saw it. Tip is missing but it just shows you always have to keep your head down. Thanks for having a look!

It does surprise me how they make it on the construction sites but it some ways I feel like it’s easier on them compared to the farm fields, if you find them in the early phase of construction.

I hear you, basically same here as far no till. I never got to experience a real good tilled field. I’m sure it was a lot a fun.

My 1st year the father was doing the fields before he retired and turned them before and after the harvest. It was nice running around picking up so many artifacts. Now you have to search and learn how to look past the grass to see them. It’s still possible but you have to be right over top of them.

Thank you! My job does fit me, being an outdoors person. For most I’m sure they think why would you want to do that. Some of my sites have finished where I was finding stuff and I think, oh no! no more artifacts but I will have new sites start up and I start finding artifacts as long as there is water nearby. I have two new sites right now, showing me what I’m looking for.

Thanks SailorJoe, I was thinking it was a Hamilton Triangle, here are the other bird points I have found from that construction site. Click image for larger version

It probably is a Hamilton, especially considering the others that look like Hamiltons. I was thinking that I saw an incurvate base and somewhat parallel sides before the point narrows down. Miscall on my first peek.
