  • Windy day hunt

We out today to a place I have hunted many times. it was very windy & hot but managed a few finds. & a heart breaker. the round stone I think was maybe used as a hammering stone for flaking tool maybe ?? The stone has impact marks on both ends. Any advice on the round Stone guys . Thanks for looking.

Hammer or pecking stone. The pecking stone was used as a finishing stone on hard stone. Idk if you ever found hard stone or not but most pecking stones will have a little damage like yours where most hammer stone types show more damage. Nice finds and it’s hot here to in the 90s already

The pecking stone could have been used for multiple purposes. It has multiple angled light impact marks that would make me lean towards a knapping stone or as surface hunter stated it could be a hard stone finishing tool. Awesome artifact finds!
