I was washing some of my rocks to pick out what I wanted to polish and noticed the serrations on this blade. They are micro serrations and I did not notice them when I put the blade in rock box. other photo of two pieces that could been used also. Click image for larger version

That little sucker would slice you as fast as you run your finger over it.

I think that's the sharpest blade I've ever seen. Maybe it's a small saw.

The more I’ve been thinking about this ultimate lil’ cutter, that more I think it’s so special that it deserves the best solo display you can create. (Maybe 3-4 spotlights?). Quartz is very difficult, and to make this took not only hours, but tremendous patience and skill, not to mention probably lotsa direct sunlight, rock-steady hands (yuk-yuk!), and eyes as sharp as the end product!

Cecilia, that is coastal plain chert and it only took one strike to take the blade off parent rock, and a little time to make serrations on blade.

Disenchanted! With illusions gone, will no longer oooh-‘n-aaaah over yalls’ knapping skills.... instead just think “o, he did in 2 seconds, blindfolded....”🤔☹️.

Why does it look quartzy to me?...is my eyesight as damaged as my poor fantasies?

Hi Johnny, A beautiful uniface knife is what it looks like. Good save for sure. Glad that didn't go into the tumbler if that is where it may have gone for the polish job.
