O, O, O, got some quartz gravers too, but worry my camera just makes them look like flakes (although love flakes, too, after all they’re artifacts...) !!

Interesting. I would probably walk right by those...except for the quartz which would catch my eye immediately because there is no quartz in N'Eastern Illinois...lol...nice finds. Just what was a graver used for ?
The chase is better than the catch...
I'm Frank and I'm from the flatlands of N'Eastern Illinois...

Like a perforator / Drill could also be used to incise .

Of course I’d hafta live in a state where “gravers” distinguished from “perforators”, since I’m just happy to be able to say “Hey, that could make a hole”! Graver apparently short for “engraver”, tho don’t think did engraving like l think, but instead used mostly on cutting into bone (according to Peach State website). “Perforators” in Ga look more like short drills, with finger-held area often distinguishable part of tool (tho some just look kinda like thumb scrappers that come to point). Easy to confuse student!..... I’m just glad gravers have tell-tale nub!

Graver around here is just generic for small drill like tools .

I have read of a technique to shape bone with involves scoring and then tapping.

    Also maybe teasing out sinew.

    Splitting grasses and reeds.

How many uses can we imagine?
