  • A point from Southwest Florida.

This is a heat treated E notched beveled Bolen, I believe the chert is Tampa bay lime rock and it’s 2-3/4” long...It was found in 1985 at Bear Creek, New Port Richey, Pasco Co., Florida.... This piece does not exhibit the heavier patination as seen on many of the Bolens from this area, and is probably due to the material and type of soil conditions...A few were made from translucent cherts and coral....

Thanks for the vote Mike, I always wondered why some of the more delicate looking ones, were meant for rough use,,,

I think this is my favorite point that I have seen in your collection. I love the notching, and the beveling is nice too.

Hal very unique point, I didn't think I would ever find one of those so I bought a base at an arrowhead show and repaired it.
