    The days finds, a Stanley point and several tips plus some red pigment. The red color on paper is color it would be if it was crushed and mixed with some material to make paint. The Stanley has ben re sharpened several times and had a shoulder ding. Click image for larger version

    A good day Willjo... big fan of that stanly point.
    wish they could be found in my area.... I never made it back to that gravel bar, winter returned... it’s snowing....

          That one was in a spot on property where some older ones come from, haven't been finding many almost whole points so posting some broke stuff

                  I am sure that is what it was used for, it was buried in sand and sand was stained pink

                        Now on that red rock , how did you know about that trial and error ?
                        Or is it that ochre ? ( sp )?

                          The camp site only has stones brought in by N.A.'s and i have found yellow pieces and red pieces. It is smooth and would not need much to crush it into pigments. Never seen anything identified red ocher so not for sure but sure they used it for paint pigment
