  • Random, but a good one

Rained here a lot yesterday and today. So this evening, I rode around the field I want to hunt later this week, well because I'm impatient and wanted to see if any quartz was shining , and saw a Guilford. I had on flip flops but decided to go in anyway to get the point but as soon as I stepped in I saw this piece. I stood over this piece for 5 minutes thinking please be whole. It's almost whole. Taylor I guess because it has a wicked twist. I love these random finds! It's rhyolite.

Lots of broken pieces but they are getting better. I'd love to find a Clovis.

Yes I marked the spot with a water bottle, lol. Got the Guilford first and went back and looked at other. Flip flops were suppose to deter me from looking. It didn't work.

I've never looked at Taylor but I've seen Hardaway so you know I'm hardly ever correct lol. It's still raining here poured for hours I'm sure the creeks are over the banks. I might have to do another mega hunt if the water ever drops

Hardaway is what I initially thought but it has a definite twist. So I don't know. It poured here again last night.

Thanks! Yep, or break an ankle, leg or hip. I never, ever hunt in flip flops because wet clay and flip flops are a recipe for disaster.

WTG, Josie. Important point for the collection. I know that impatient feeling when you have your eye on a site. Can't resist having a quick look.

I took my dogs for a ride and had no intention of getting my toes muddy, lol.

I don't wear flip flops but sometimes wear sandals with the velcro straps. That's a excellent find, those could be your lucky flip flops.

I hope it's not the flip flops, lol. In the summer when it's really dry, I might wear hiking type sandals but never when it's wet or when the dirt is powdery. Wet clay can be as slick as ice!

Mike, it's really twisted. I'll take another pic this afternoon. If it weren't for the twist, I would have called it Hardaway. I found it in the same area I found a small quartz Taylor. I think you have posted some Taylors in the past. Don't they all have a significant twist?
