I dusted off a couple of nice ones I found many years back. This is a Susquehanna river flood plains field. So just about anything can show up. Northumberland County Pa. North branch. On a back field tertiary flood levy, 200 or so yards from the river. These higher levies are the ones that were the edge of the Glacial flood banks back in Paleo times. Many people don't hunt that far from the river, Yet that is where the oldest Artifacts are found. Nice Fluted point made of Penns Creek Chert. The light brown knife came from much closer to the river. Made from Center County Chert. What a wonderful days hunt that was. Enjoy. Kim

Super hunt great points really..Those are the kind that we dream about..As I stared at the Clovis I was transported back in time..I saw a small family on the move at the edge of a pond..A dark shape appears out of the early morning fog..The hunter always ready makes the throw, the dart falls short landing in the tall reeds, the shape fades away...An event lost in time 12000years ago, unfortunate for the hunter, fortunate for you who is just as relentless..😉Last edited by Hal Gorges; 10-28-2021, 09:59 PM.Floridaboy.

This is the type of thing I imagine too. I like to think of the women scraping hides, preparing food, making baskets and pottery, etc. Everyday camp life. The children that played there. The stories shared around the hearth. History, gotta love it!

Hi Kim. Dandy points for sure. My experience is similar along the Tennessee River to yours in that the oldest points (Big Sandy, Dalton, Quad etc.) are usually found some distance away from the river channel on the 2nd or 3rd levee and only occasionally on the first levee. That was common knowledge among the guys I knew who hunted with back in the 1960's. Usually what erodes from the river banks on the big river is Mississippian, Woodland or Late Archaic.
