  • The Unperfect Andice

Andice....gosh I love them. I dug a bunch of them at my Houston Co site. None perfect. They are always made of the finest imported materials. Elaborate ears that always broke . No problem, they used the heck out of Andice even after both ears were gone. Click image for larger version

I guess that's enough... imperfect yet mystical.

            Spectacular examples!

It's always interesting when people restore both ears on a stubby, heavily used example.

Similar to a calf creek, says a far west boy not knowing much about Texas. Nice point!

Andice, calfcreek, and bell are pretty much variants of the same culture in my opinion. I found all three mixed. Sergio Ayala wrote up TSUs gault CalfCreek layer dig. All three varieties were present. The finding was that the same people were making all three at the same time.

The calf creek look went north while Bell is more prominent south and West. Andice style covers East tx although all three types are probably present anywhere the culture lived.

I think they're pretty much same culture as our Calf's here in the Ozarks. And I love finding them in any condition. And you're right about them using them to the end. Thanks for sharing. Some really cool examples you have.

Wow, amazing workmanship! Love the one with serrations and a tip impact fracture. And that yellow one looks as delicate as bone china. 😲
